The Lausanne Kurdish Institute Has Been Founded

On May 4, 2025, the Lausanne Kurdish Institute announced its establishment at a reception held at the Hotel de l'Ours in the Swiss city of Lausanne.

Many guests, Kurdish writers and academics, diaspora representatives, institutional representatives and authorities of the Canton of Lausanne attended the reception.

During the reception, a film was screened presenting the vision of the Lausanne Kurdish Institute, voiced by the famous Kurdish artist Sivan Perwer. The institute's five-member management committee was then introduced to the guests.

The Kurdish foundation declaration of the institute was read by Necat Zanyar, President of the Lausanne Kurdish Institute. Vice-President Nazile Afkhami read the declaration in French.

After the declaration, Gilberte Favre, wife of the famous Kurdish intellectual and politician Nuredin Zaza, gave a speech and congratulated the institute on its establishment.

The launch reception of the Lausanne Kurdish Institute concluded with a music performance and an aperitif.
